Crt royale at 4k5/2/2023 And it wouldn't look that great because of the fine screen pitch compared to an old CRT TV or arcade monitor.īut in high resolution mode I can simulate a variety of other types of CRTs, or add effects like NTSC filters. I could display 240p on it using 120hz mode but that causes ghosting and it's a hassle to set up in software. It's glass with a slightly curved screen. It's also only a 19" monitor which I sit a few feet away from so I get extra blending from that. But I use a switch on the back of my monitor to increase brightness, and the screen pitch is coarse enough to blend some of the effects when running at 2048x1536. If I were to post a screenshot of my tweaked shaders they would not look very good. I use 256-composite and 320-composite shader variations on console games I think benefit from this effect.įor arcade games I use a tweaked Guest-Dr-Venom because it gives me fine control over scanline size and mask type and I've found it to be more pleasing than CRT-Royale on my particular monitor. In my case I turn off effects like halation and glow in shader parameters because my CRT will provide that naturally. I've tried most of the shaders available in RetroArch and I always go back to variations of CRT-Royale and Guest-Dr-Venom. My set up is 19" CRT monitor running in 2048x1536. /lgbt/ - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender.
